The ssnmaint utility is part of Passport and can be found in the Passport program group. Please contact the sales department at Dynamic Concepts (sales@dynamic.com) for information on obtaining a license and SSN. o IQ will run, limited to a maximum of 50 records, in the absence of a license, a SSN, and an activation code. o IQ will not run in case of a security error. o IQ for Windows supports Microsoft's 16-bit ODBC driver which is now included as part of this product distribution. Please be advised that Microsoft's 32-bit ODBC driver cannot be used with IQ for Windows. The "SQL Server (32 bit)" ODBC driver will also not work with IQ. o IQ for Windows will not run with IQ2 data dictionary files. However, it will run with an IQ3/4 data dictionary. You may bring an existing IQ3/4 data dictionary file from another system by first running ddunload on the source system and then running ddload on the Windows system. All text files should be ported onto the Windows system via ftp or some other utility program that converts 'LF' to 'CRLF'. o On a Windows NT system, IQ must be installed from the System Administrator account. o IQ for Windows cannot be used with Windows 3.1. o Problem reports should be emailed to support@dynamic.com. All problem reports should contain a description of the problem, the operating system type (Windows 95 or Windows NT), and, if at all possible, a reproducible sequence to duplicate the problem. o Please visit our web site at www.dynamic.com for lists of known problems and common questions as they are available. These are dL4 files and UniBasic Universal files. o Correct Year 2000 ascending and descending sort of 2 digit year date fields for UniBasic Universal and dL4 files. The sort will work correctly, even if a 2 digit year is stored as part of key data. For example, "010100" will appear before "010199" in a descending sort. Likewise, "010100" will appear after "010199" in an ascending sort. o Correct leap year calculation for 2, 3 and 4 digit years for UniBasic Universal and dL4 files. o IQ interprets dates as specified in the data dictionary date layout as follows: a) 4 digit years (Y4) are taken "as is". b) 3 digit years (Y3) are added to the DEFAULT century as configured in IQCONFIG.DAT item CD. c) For UniBasic and dL4 files, 2 digit years (Y2) are converted to be in the nearest century based on a plus/minus 50 years rule. A two digit year is thus assumed to be within 50 years, plus or minus, of the current year as returned by the system. For example, if the system returns 1998 as the current year, then the year 47 will be interpreted as year 2047, and year 49 will be interpreted as year 1949. o The new IQCONFIG.DAT item CD allows the user to override the default century (1900) for a three digit year. o Supports automatic detection of UniBasic and dL4 flat files. o Retains Top and Side margin settings for label output format layout. IQ3/IQ4 and IQ5 Dictionaries: ============================= IQ5 is fully compatible with versions 3, 4, and 5 data dictionaries. However, a dictionary must be ddunloaded on the native system before moving to a different type of system. ddload must then be run on the target system. New in This Release ================================================================= Apr 18 1997 (Release 5.1 release) o First general release of IQ for Windows. o IQ for Windows supports all dL4 portable files. Please use the existing "UniBasic-IQ Installation & Reference Guide" for all file and field type definitions. Please be advised that IQ for Windows does not support UniBasic files. o A dL4 Full-ISAM file is supported via Microsoft's 16-bit ODBC driver. o All fields as documented in the "UniBasic-IQ Installation & Reference Guide" are supported. o IQ for Windows supports filenames with wildcards, including wildcards for dL4 portable Indexed-Contiguous files. o IQ for Windows supports dL4 date fields. o Use field type 176 for dL4 date fields. Use sizes of 2, 4, or 6 for %1, %2, and %3 date fields, respectively. In addition, use Y0M0D9 for "Date Layout", 10 for "Output Size of Field", and use MM/DD/YYYY for "Output Format". o The following environment variables must be properly setup for IQ to work properly: IQDATA - used to locate data files PATH - used to locate executable and support files IQDD - used to locate a data dictionary o A period (".") character is not allowed as part of an IQ category name. o Since dL4 can now share Portable Indexed Contiguous files between the Windows and Unix versions of dL4, any Portable Indexed Contiguous file created using previous beta or alpha versions of dL4 for Windows can no longer be accessed and must be rebuilt. o Some IQ documentation refers to Smart Server. Smart Server is no longer part of IQ for Windows. o The product may be uninstalled by clicking on the uninstall icon from the Administrator account on a Windows NT system, or by running "Settings/Control Panel/Add Remove Programs" on a Windows 95 system. You may need to manually remove directory \iqwin (or your installation directory). Please also note that the PATH variable in autoexec.bat file is not restored when the product is uninstalled.
